Charlevoix

Committed

This destination is in the process of certification.

The Charlevoix tourist destination is renowned for its natural heritage, where river and mountains coexist. Designated a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1988, Charlevoix was one of the first inhabited biosphere reserves in Canada. The Charlevoix landscapes are marked by a mountainous relief altered by meteorite impact and glaciation. This unique environment is not only a major asset, but also a collective asset with which the population identifies, and everyone agrees on the importance of preserving it. To ensure the protection of these exceptional natural resources, Tourisme Charlevoix is committed to supporting the development of the destination in a way that respects the community and its sustainable transition, while placing visitors, citizens and the environment at the centre of its initiatives.
